I know I am not the only one who is excited about football season this year! I have heard from all around that we need to get this blog up and going again, so here you go!
The first game of the season is against Memphis! It is true that my heart bleeds blue during basketball season, BUT Maroon and White in the fall!!! This should be a great game because kickoff is not until 6 p.m.
Therefore, set-up on Saturday around 11:30-Noon in our same place! I'm sure that there will be some there before that time if you would like to go earlier.
We will have the tents set up Friday night at 5...or before. We have to make sure we boot anyone out of the way that is even thinking about setting up in our place! :) Those of you who would like to join on Friday for tent set-up, bring a chair and a cooler. You know how it's done!
As for food...
Bill and I have talked to a couple people about what we should have. We were thinking as a main dish, hotdogs/sausage dogs/hamburgers. We will have plenty of time to cook before the game. Mr. Smelley...bring your grill!
I think we have plenty of plates, cups, napkins, silverware, etc. I will double check, but don't worry about any of that stuff for now. I will post on here if we need some.
As for the rest of the food...bring something that will be able to sit in the hot weather for a long period of time. It's still too early to tell, but if the weather continues on the road it has been on, dress cool and wear lots of sunscreen because it is going to be hot!!! Depending on the side you sit on, at least half the stadium will be in the shade at kickoff, so that is a plus!
Chips, Dips, Fruit, Veggies, Sweets, etc. are always welcome!

ReplyDeleteGoing to be a great tailgate season, I can just feel it! Both Matt and Brett will at the Memphis game as well as the Auburn game. Also Martha's cousin, Chuck and his wife Mary, will be at the Memphis game (they are U. of Memphis alums. Let the parties begin!!!!

Jenny, glad your folks are coming, even if they do wear blue! We'll bring our standard fruit kabobs and some chips/salsa. Just to let everyone know how excited we are, let me tell you about maroon wear at my school. Two other teachers at school are MSU fans, but we have to wear school spirit shirts on Fridays, so we've decided to make our own "Maroon Mondays" instead! How's that for bulldog spirit!
