MSU vs. Arkansas

As we come to an end of this incredible football season, all I can say is WOW!  What an amazing season we have had!  We've had awesome tailgates so far, so lets make this last one the best yet!

On Saturday, November 20 at 6:00 p.m., we will play our final home game vs. University of Arkansas in Starkville!  As of today, the weather looks superb!  High of 68 degrees and low of 43 degrees!  Perfect during the day and a little chilly at night.  Couldn't ask for better football weather!  Bring a blanket!

Now let's discuss the most important part...the FOOD:

I know we are going to have a few extra at the tailgate, so let's plans for about 30 people at this one.

This is what I have heard, so please correct me if I am wrong...
***UPDATE***

Jodie and Jamie Osbirn: Pork Shoulder and buns
Dee and Martha Smelley: White Chicken Chili
Matt Sanders, Cameron and Brooks Magee: Chicken Tenders

MSU vs. Kentucky- Saturday, October 30

I can't believe what an amazing season we are having!!!  Our Bulldogs are doing such a great job (not really saying they did such a great job last game, but at least it was a win!) :)

As for the Kentucky game...

Bill and I will be in Memphis at a wedding this weekend, so we will not be here for this game, however, I will still update the blog if needed, so email me if you cannot post on the blog and I will update for you. My email is TJW31651@aol.com. Please forward to who needs this.

Kentucky game will take place on Saturday, October 30 at 6 p.m.  Looks like the weather will be amazing!  Highs in low 70's and Lows in high 40's, so dress for the game!!!

Here is what I have heard about the food so far...

- Main Dish: Pulled Pork from Chef Bear (pick up around 2-2:30)
- Bob and Anne: Pumpkin dip and beans in a bundle
- Drew and Vaughan Holland (Bill's sister and brother -in-law): Cupcakes

MSU vs. UAB- Homecoming!

This year we will play UAB for Homecoming on Saturday, October 23 at 6 p.m.  This means we will probably set-up around noon. This is another late afternoon game, so we will definitely be doing our pre-game tailgate!

Hopefully we will luck out with the weather like we have been! Right now high of 84 and low of 56!

Let's discuss the most important part...FOOD!

Dave and Janet: Seafood Gumbo with rice and bread
Chambers: Catfish Filets
Bill and Jenny: Cookies and a side
Melissa: candy corn bark

Post any comments/suggestions about what you want to bring!

See you all in a few weeks!!

MSU vs. Alcorn State- Saturday, October 2

What an incredible game we had against Georgia!!!  Can't wait to see us win again this weekend when we play Alcorn State!

The weather is supposed to be incredible for this game.  Highs in the UPPER 70's and lows in the LOW 50's with ZERO percent chance of rain!  Finally, football weather!!!

Kick-off for this weekend is at 11 a.m.  So...let's plan on setting up between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

As for food, let's discuss...

By the way...the food at the Georgia game was OUTSTANDING!  I don't think there was anything left by the end of the game!

As for Alcorn State...
We need something to eat BEFORE the game, but we will definitely need lunch AFTER the game since I am sure most will want to hang out, visit and watch a little football after we beat Alcorn State!  So...if you want to plan on bringing a little something for breakfast and then a little something for lunch, that would be great!  Just remember...the majority of people will be coming to the tailgate after the game.

Here are a few ideas for BEFORE the game...Chicken/Sausage biscuits from Chick-fil-a, McDonalds, or Bojangles, the makings for bloody marys/or mimosas, donuts, muffins, sausage balls, breakfast casseroels, etc.  Bring whatever you want.

As for AFTER the game, we could always grill something out or order something from McArthur Hall.  Either is fine.  What do you guys think?  We could look into ordering something and come back with a price/person.

***UPDATED***
This is what people have volunteered for so far...

- Anne and Bob: Cheese Grits
- Cameron and Brooks: Donuts/Pastries (before game), cookies (after game)
- Mr. Rainey: Smoke Salmon
- Bill and Jenny: Chili
- Dee and Martha: Jumbo Hotdogs and Buns
FYI...if you know someone at our tailgate that would like to be included in this blog, just let me know their email address and I can add them to the list, so that they can be included in our tailgate gameday discussions.

If you cannot post on this blog, just email me back at TJW31651@aol.com and I will post for you!  Can't wait to see everyone Saturday.  Go Bulldogs!

MSU vs. Georgia

The last two games were a little tough to watch, but all we can do is move forward!  Let's discuss Georgia for Saturday, September 25 at 6 p.m.  Another night game!  We are really getting lucky!

The WEST side will wear Maroon and the EAST side is in white for this game! If you are on the side with the MSU football team in front of you, you are on the WEST side.

As for the food...any ideas as to what we can do??? Let's discuss and I will post once we decide!

According to the forecast right now, it looks like it will be another hot one (90's), so let's take that into consideration.  Also, if anyone wants to plug in a crock-pot, we have that capability now!

UPDATE:
Bob and Anne are going to cook several pork tenderloins and bring rolls for sandwiches.

Vaughan and Drew Holland (Bill's sister and husband) are also coming to the Georgia game and are going to bring a cookie cake.

That's all I have for now!

MSU vs. Auburn

What a way to start our season!  49-7 Mississippi State...I love the way that sounds.  We had an amazing time at our first tailgate AND game! The food, the people, the weather and the game all turned out perfectly for our first game.  Let's pray we get that same combination for the rest of the season!

Let's discuss the Auburn game...
Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 9.  This game is a Maroon Out, so wear your maroon!  I don't know about you, but I was pretty impressed with all the people that turned out in their white shirts.  I barely saw anyone that wasn't dressed in white!

According to campus rules, we can start setting up our tailgate at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. So, I am sure we will be out there before that time in order to get our spot!

As for the food, we have ordered Grilled BBQ Chicken for 30 from McArthur Hall.  Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think we have that set up to be delivered to our tailgate at 3 p.m.  Everyone else, bring sides or whatever to go along with that.

Bob bought a new and bigger generator this year with 4 electrical outlets, so we do have capabilities to run crock pots if needed.  This might open up a few new food ideas for the season.

We will see everyone in 4 short days!

Reply to this post with what you want to bring.

P.S.  Those of you that normally reply to our posts, could you please reply and let the others know how you do it.  I talked to a few people who were confused on how to reply.  I would give instructions, but since I am the creator, I have a feeling that my way of doing it is a little different.   Thanks!

Also, if you know of anyone who wants to get this blog, give me their email address!  To see all the images in this blog, go to http://www.bulldogeats.blogspot.com/

It's that time of year again...

I know I am not the only one who is excited about football season this year! I have heard from all around that we need to get this blog up and going again, so here you go!

The first game of the season is against Memphis! It is true that my heart bleeds blue during basketball season, BUT Maroon and White in the fall!!! This should be a great game because kickoff is not until 6 p.m.

Therefore, set-up on Saturday around 11:30-Noon in our same place! I'm sure that there will be some there before that time if you would like to go earlier.

We will have the tents set up Friday night at 5...or before. We have to make sure we boot anyone out of the way that is even thinking about setting up in our place! :) Those of you who would like to join on Friday for tent set-up, bring a chair and a cooler. You know how it's done!

As for food...

Bill and I have talked to a couple people about what we should have. We were thinking as a main dish, hotdogs/sausage dogs/hamburgers. We will have plenty of time to cook before the game. Mr. Smelley...bring your grill!

I think we have plenty of plates, cups, napkins, silverware, etc. I will double check, but don't worry about any of that stuff for now. I will post on here if we need some.

As for the rest of the food...bring something that will be able to sit in the hot weather for a long period of time. It's still too early to tell, but if the weather continues on the road it has been on, dress cool and wear lots of sunscreen because it is going to be hot!!! Depending on the side you sit on, at least half the stadium will be in the shade at kickoff, so that is a plus!

Chips, Dips, Fruit, Veggies, Sweets, etc. are always welcome!

POST WHAT YOU WANT TO BRING and if you have any ideas for the tailgate, blog, etc!

Once again, I am super excited to see everyone in 2 short weeks! Go Bulldogs!
